how do you remove a project from a plan

Hi @Sue Hannan 

In your plan, you should see a cog icon next to the plan name.

If you click this icon, then click on "configure", you will be taken to the plan's settings.

In the side menu, click on "issue sources" (under the heading "source data"). You should now see all of the projects/boards/filters that are connected to your plan.

Click on the "edit issue sources" button. This will bring up a wizard, where you can change or remove your issue sources.

@Mark Davies  Thank you for the quick response.

Also, when adjusting the plan (even after committing the changes) are the adjustments then reflected in the software project? The reason I ask is I am experiencing the product using software projects in our organization that I don't particularly own.

Hi @Sue Hannan 

Your plan acts as a sandbox, where you can visualise issues and make changes to those issues. By default, any changes that you make will only be saved in the plan, until you are ready to save them back to the project in Jira Software.

When you're in a plan, the number of changes that you make will get counted, behind the "Review changes" button. If you click on this button, you will then see all of the changes made in that plan. You can choose to discard any of these changes or save them back to the project.

If you click "Save selected changes in Jira", these changes will then get saved back to the project, which the issue/s belong to.

@Mark Davies That makes sense! Thanks for clarifying. I was concerned that 'Save selected changes in Jira' did in fact mean it would save those changes back to the project. Since I am testing the Advanced Roadmaps and how to use it in our organization, I would think that I should create a few test projects in Jira then experience the tool. Do you have suggestions on how best to come up to speed on this product so I can complete my evaluation quickly?

I think creating a test project and issues is a good idea. There's also the Advanced Roadmaps documentation for support.
