How to extract Xray Test Runs using the PowerBI Connector for Jira app?

Hi,

Both the Xray app and the PowerBI connector for Jira app are installed on our instance. Setting up a data source and creating an access token are Jira admin only actions in our organization. Users can request a PowerBI connection where admins will create the data source and share the access token separately with the user.

One of our users has requested a PowerBI connector for the Xray ‘Test’ and ‘Test Execution’ issue types. The data source has been created and he’s able to succesfully get the data related to these issue types in the PowerBI app.

The user is now asking if ‘Test Runs’ can also be extracted to PowerBI. I’ve read online that it should be possible, however not sure how to make this happen or validate it as a ‘Test Runs’ is not a Xray issue type, but an Xray internal entity.

Has anyone done this before and if so how to go about it?

Cheers,

Andre

Hello Andre,

If you use Power BI Connector for Jira, your admin can easily add Test Runs to the existing data sources by selecting the Test Runs table under the Xray tab. Additionally, other tables associated with Test Runs can be exported.

Please find more information on configuring Xray data export on the documentation page.
