Team '25 Recap: Jira Checklists, AI Buzz & That One Booth Everyone Pretended Not to Visit

Team '25 in Anaheim wasn’t just another Atlassian event. It was a full week of conversations, feature launches, and moments that reminded us why we build the tools we do. It also confirmed something we’ve been seeing for a while - TitanApps is now part of how teams actually work and collaborate in Jira.IMG_3755 (1).jpg

TitanApps: From Useful Tools to Part of the Workflow

This year, our apps got recognized for more than just checklists. As Anastasia Honcharova, Director of Operations in TitanApps, put it:

“After Team '25, we realized TitanApps has truly become a great addition to the Jira system of work.”

Smart Checklist and Smart Templates were built for structured work. At the event, we heard stories from teams using them for onboarding flows, purchase approvals, and process tracking across business units.

“Customers always surprise you with unexpected ways they use your tool—like using checklists mostly for approvals.”
— Julia Romanenkova, Product Lead TitanApps

We’re not just helping developers manage their sprints anymore. Finance, HR, marketing, and legal teams are turning to our tools to run daily operations in Jira.

Being named a finalist in the Teamwork Foundations Partner category confirmed it. Our apps support real workflows, across all kinds of teams (marketing, finance, procurement, HR), not just tech ones.

Riding Atlassian’s Vision Wave

Atlassian’s focus this year was clear: make Jira and Confluence more accessible to business teams, not just engineering ones. That shift hit home for us.

“It’s time to stop making non-tech teams suffer through spreadsheets and disconnected tools.”
— Julia Romanenkova

We heard this pain from customers all week - teams trying to run hiring processes, vendor onboarding, and marketing approvals in tools that were not initially built for that. Our apps fill the gap: easy to adopt, no admin setup needed, and flexible enough for non-technical users.

Another big theme? Collections - the way Atlassian is grouping tools like Jira, Confluence, and Loom together to create connected workflows. Oleksandra Kravets, product manager at TitanApps, noticed the shift:

“Now it’s not just Jira and Confluence - it’s a full package for collaboration. And with Teamwork Graph, all the data connects.”

That’s exactly how we think about our tools, too. Smart Checklist, Smart Templates, and our other projects are being designed to work together across teams and products.

And when it comes to Forge? We’re not scrambling. We’re already there.

“We’ve already migrated our biggest app Smart Checklist to Forge. Other apps are on the go and new ones are built on Forge from the start. We’re ahead and it’s paying off.”
— Anastasia Honcharova

Moving early gave us a head start on security, scalability, and compatibility. Being proud that our Smart Checklist has been recently named #1 Forge App, we follow the Atlassian vision and move forward to the new milestones.

The “Wait… Who’s That?” Moment

IMG_3730.jpg

Team ’25 was about showing what’s changing. And while no single competitor made us hit the panic button, there were definitely a few moments that got us thinking.

Atlassian’s bigger message this year was less about new features and more about changing how teams work. That shift from “tools you configure” to “tools that guide you” stood out to Julia:

“Imagine the product leading you through the process, not the other way around.”

This is not a UX update, but more like a mindset shift. One that aligns well with how we’re building Smart Tools: from static templates to Smart Checklists that respond to progress, approvals that reroute automatically, and issue workflows that adapt as things change.

We also had great chats with partners and vendors who shared their own ways of thinking about workflows and structure. Some showed strong onboarding flows, others focused on deeper reporting or HR-specific use cases. Seeing that variety helps sharpen how we position our own apps and how we can better support solution partners looking to offer more to their clients.

Plenty of food for thought. Some ideas were great. Some reinforced what we’re already doing. All of them reminded us: the ecosystem is growing fast, and we’re right in the middle of it.

Rovo & AI: From Cool Demo to Real Plans

At every Atlassian event, there’s a moment when something shiny steals the spotlight. This year, it was Rovo. Except this time, it wasn’t just a buzzword or keynote slide. Rovo was the main topic and it looked like it was everywhere. And more importantly, it was usable.

“It feels more like a real thing now that it’s available for everyone… and also given how AI improves lately.”
— Julia Romanenkova

“Definitely a game changer, especially for product and project managers. Rovo could take over repetitive tasks like updates, reminders, even some internal Q&A.”
— Oleksandra Kravets

And we agree. Rovo feels like it’s moving from hype to helpful.

What stood out is that Rovo plugs naturally into workflows not trying to replace them. Search that understands context. Agents that know your team’s docs. Suggestions that make sense because they’re built on your own process.

That’s where it clicked for us: TitanApps already helps teams break big work into steps and approvals. With Rovo, we’re now asking: how can those steps become smarter?

Imagine triggering the right checklist or process template based on a work item’s type, status, or team without any manual setup. Can Rovo agents follow those predefined steps? Can they help to run structured, repeatable processes with Smart Checklist?

The short answer: yes. The longer answer is yet to come.

“One idea you want to bring back to the product roadmap immediately?
AI it is.— Julia

Talks, Partners & Conversations That Stuck

IMG_5493.jpg

Not every insight comes from a keynote. Often, it’s a comment at the booth or a side conversation that lingers.

“We were discussing checklists, and someone said:
‘How else do you know when you’re done?’
It stuck with me.”
— Julia

This kind of simplicity is what we aim for with Smart Checklist. Our mission is to help teams finish what they start without second-guessing the process.

Our JSM training with solution partners was a standout moment. Getting hands-on with how others work revealed where the friction is where TitanApps can genuinely help.

And it wasn’t just one “let’s sync next week” moment. There were several. Conversations about real use cases, process gaps, client needs. We left with a long list of follow-ups and a stronger sense of what matters to partners and clients alike.

“We had people come up, not to ask what our apps do, but to tell us how they already use them. That’s when you realize it’s not just marketing anymore.”
— Anastasia Honcharova

We also heard direct comparisons - some flattering, some frustrating.

“Someone told me they prefer another checklist vendor who hasn’t even started migrating to Forge. Meanwhile, we’re already there. So that sounded strange.”
— Anastasia Honcharova

It’s a reminder that recognition is more about awareness than the features. And that’s something we plan to work on, not complain about.

Swag, Snacks & In-Person Magic

DSC07426 (2).jpg

Let’s be honest, no one leaves a conference without a few extra items in their suitcase. This year was no exception.

“The best swag is the one you’ll actually use. I took home a notebook. The weirdest? A photo from a booth I’m still not sure how to explain.”
— Julia Romanenkova

“I got an Atlassian blanket. On my way home, I had a six-hour layover, so I grabbed a taxi, found the ocean, and just sat there on the blanket. Best end to the trip I could’ve asked for.”
— Anastasia Honcharova

As for booths that kept pulling us back, Figma’s was hard to resist - partly for the swag, partly for the energy. And yes, we walked past Atlassian’s booth a little too often, mostly to see what the crowd was reacting to in real time.

It’s moments like these: trading stickers, chatting over snacks, or swapping stories with someone you’ve only seen on Zoom that remind us why in-person events matter.

“Seeing the same people again, talking face-to-face, working offline with our team - it just feels different.”
— Julia

“Conversations outside of the booth, without any business agenda, built real connections. That’s how partnerships actually grow.”
— Anastasia

Scrolling Slack and standing at a booth can’t replace that spark when you recognize a colleague across the room, swap “remember when” stories, and brainstorm next steps over a non-corporate beer.

“Working offline with our distributed team - these moments are invaluable.”
— Julia
