how to check a parent issue custom field

I am working on a post function custom email -

I am looking to create a condition that checks if a certain checkbox was selected in the parent issue.

Hello Jacob,

If you are using groovy with scriptrunner you can always get parent issue like this

def parent = issue.getParentObject();

after that you can get value of custom field with

def cfValue = parent.getCustomFieldValue()

how would I adjust to code to check if "adobe" was selected in "Software"

def parent = issue.getParentObject()
def cfValue = parent.getCustomFieldValue(ComponentAccessor.customFieldManager.getCustomFieldObjectByName("xxx"))

this will return you value of custom field from parent :)

thats great but how do i create a condition with that value. 

I am looking for strip runner to send an email if the  

CfValue is equaled to a certain value.
