Faster query performance for the "Issue field" table !

What’s coming

A couple of months ago, we made efficiency changes to four Jira tables. Since then, we’ve observed significant improvement in query performance on Atlassian Analytics. To have a wider range of queries benefit from a faster turnaround time, we're introducing the same efficiency changes to the jira_issue_field table.

We believe these five efficiency-improved tables will address many of your concerns on dashboard load times and query run times.

Impacts on data freshness

Once the changes are released, the jira_issue_field table will have the same refresh schedule as the first four efficiency-improved Jira tables. In other words, data will be refreshed every 3 hours.

We appreciate your patience as we work to address the balance between speed and data freshness.

When to expect these changes

We aim to roll out the improved tables on December 10, 2023, PST.

Hey Tina, this will be very useful. We had some issues after the performance updates to the last tables where we needed a complete data refresh. On some tables (issue cycle time particularly) there was no data available prior to the date of the updates. Can we please ensure this is tested as part of regression after the rollout?

Hi @Steven Drury, thanks for flagging. I believe the issue you're referring to was related to a previous support ticket with @Sean Suwal where it was identified to be a bug with the batch data load process. A fix for that bug has since been deployed. It was a separate issue from the performance updates on these tables.
