Is anyone using data shares with Power BI in a way that sensitive data is hidden or removed in either the share or the Power BI side?
We want to use data shares as our company heavily uses Power BI, but not being able to limit the data is a blocker right now.
Hi @Paul Madison!
I can't speak to the PowerBI side, so I will hope someone who can will chime in, but this sort of requirement may also benefit from building a "local" data lake with the data read from the data share as part of an ETL pipeline.
This would allow you to set up more granular/filtered views for users to connect to, instead of relying on PowerBI features to manage end-user visibility.
I know this isn't quite the solution you are asking for here, but I did want to give an option independent of PowerBI :)
