We created a data pipeline using delta sharing to Snowflake to combine Jira data with other datasets we have on our data platform.
I'm trying to implement row-level security where Snowflake users can only see data related to projects they allowed to access.
Is there a way using the delta share dataset that provides the user to project permission?
Hello Assem,
I hope you are doing well.
I am Mohsin from Atlassian Analytics support.
Here is the answer to your question:
Short Answer:
No, Atlassian’s Delta Sharing datasets (as of late 2025) do not natively include a user-to-project permission mapping table.
The Delta Sharing export from Atlassian Data Lake (Jira) focuses on issue, project, and field data, but does not provide a direct mapping of which users have access to which projects.
You must create and maintain your own user-to-project permission mapping table in Snowflake (or your data platform).
I hope this information provides clarity.

Hi @Assem Mohammed Ali , thanks for your post.
I will flag this to Atlassian as I don't think we have any way of verifying this, apart from what is written in the documentation. Does this help you at all - https://support.atlassian.com/analytics/docs/manage-data-source-access/ ?
Best wishes
