Vibe coding is magic—until it’s time to ship.
Last week, I watched a live-demo vibe coding on stage.
The presenter built a prototype for a crowd-sourced idea—Scoop the Poop—in just 30 minutes.
It was electric.
Nontechnical founders were glowing.
For the first time, they could see their idea breathe right in front of them.
We’ve never had a better tool to validate (or kill) ideas early.
But here’s the truth:
> A prototype is not a product.
Product leaders know this.
A prototype skips the essential part: understanding real customer needs and making sure you actually solve them.
- Without talking to users, you’re designing in a vacuum.
- Without thoughtful requirements, engineers are building in a vacuum.
And yes—we still need engineers!!!
They’re the ones asking the hard questions and know what to do with the answers:
- Where’s user data stored?
- How will we monitor failures?
- What happens when requirements change?
Vibe coding is brilliant.
But let’s remember what it is: A shortcut for ideation—not a replacement for thoughtful product design or experienced engineering.
As Solution Partners, you help teams turn prototypes into durable, scalable solutions that stand the test of real-world complexity, so let's be aware of where our customers should or shouldn't apply AI.
