Bamboo agent hangs PC when network adapter disabled

last week I had an instance where I had disabled the network adapter on a Windows 10 PC with a Bamboo agent (5.12.x)  installed as a service.

I noticed the PC became very unresponsive until I finally managed to stop the service / re-enabled the network adapter.

Would there be a way for the Bamboo agent to have a more 'graceful degradation'?
