Mercurial repo support in bamboo 8

As per this mercurial repositories can be added as git repository type from bamboo 8 and above, but that doesn't work. 
Getting the below error  while testing the connection

invalid advertisement of Mercurial/Python process ends with return code 255

Any suggestions?

You read the KB wrong, As of Bamboo 8 Mercurial is no longer supported.

Starting on Bamboo 8.0, support for Mercurial has been discontinued and the Mercurial plugin was removed from bundled plugins.
