I'm just trying to start an elastic instance from the stock images. I've tried both Ubuntu and Windows and get an error like this:
Mar 22, 2019 1:49:09 AM Requested that new elastic instance be created for configuration: Windows stock image / ami-0665f9de7c19b210d |
Mar 22, 2019 1:49:09 AM Detected that a pending instance request for image [Windows stock image], ami: ami-0665f9de7c19b210d has been abandoned. |
Unfortunately, this doesn't give me enough information to troubleshoot the issue and my web search didn't come up with much besides a very old question that doesn't seem relevant to my issue as I'm using the stock images, not custom and also it seems there have been some advancements with this tool.
**UPDATE**
I downloaded and reviewed the support logs and found some info that I chased down the rabbit hole, indicating that it could be a problem with the region. I was using us-east-2, so I tried us-east-1 and that worked. I have not found any documentation to explain this. In fact, I am manually able to launch those AMI's via the AWS console manually, without any issue in us-east-2.
Hi Jeremiah,
What instance type and size are you attempting to use. Currently Bamboo defaults to M3.Large, which is not available in the us-east-2 region. These have been replaced by M4, and M5 instances.
Cheers,
Robert Watson
