bamboo fails to push build status to stash

The build-result push from bamboo to stash is failing. The error message is following:

"401 Unauthorized" received while attempting to store build status against Stash instance `Stash', check your application link configuration.

I followed the instructions from this page (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMKB/Unable+to+see+Bamboo+build+results+in+Stash), but could not resolve the problem.

For us it is necessary to see the build results in stash, otherwise the auto merging functionality is not working.

We are running bamboo 5.5.0 and stash 2.12.2 on linux.

If necessary I can provide the logfiles.

I might suggest you also raise a support ticket and attach your logs - that's generally easier for us to resolve these kinds of problems.
