Deprecating Trello in Bitbucket

After much consideration, we've decided to deprecate the Trello feature in Bitbucket due to low usage and high maintenance costs. This will enable us to focus on improving and building the most important features for our users.

No impact on Trello app

This will not change your experience, account, or data within the Trello app. You'll still be able to access all your work in Trello, and use Trello's Bitbucket Power-Up to display Bitbucket data on your Trello board.

Sunset timeline

• 10/11/21: users will no longer be able to enable the Trello feature in Bitbucket.

• 8/6/22: users will no longer be able to see Trello cards in Bitbucket. The feature will be removed from all Bitbucket workspaces and repositories.

How to migrate

To continue seeing issues in Bitbucket, we recommend migrating from Trello to Jira and connecting Jira with Bitbucket. This will help your team view issues, plan work, and track projects more easily within Bitbucket and help your team stay on top of code and deployments within Jira. Learn more

Won't this be problematic for teams who have paid Trello accounts?  Even if they move over to Jira instead of Trello (which they probably won't) wouldn't this still be more expensive for them?

Yes, of course, paying for Jira licenses is more lucrative. Update makes total sense, and in line with the regular changes with Jira pricing recently which mostly consist of making already available features become paid-add ons.

Trello integration was my only feature that keep me from concurent, so, goodby bitbucket !

Just saw this - bummer. 

We use the integration to see Trello tickets in Bitbucket and updating Trello tickets as they are rolled to PRD. 

No way we will migrate our Trello to Jira, but we will move from Bitbucket, which we pay for, to something else.

I just looked at the public side of the BitBucket site and it says that you offer Trello integration. I'm confused. Is there another Trello integration option?

This is interesting as some of us choose to move from BitBucket instead of moving out from Trello to Jira. I see it as how powerful and convenient Trello is.

Funny, we use Jira and just started using BitBucket; I initially resisted trying BB because my experience with Jira has been so bad. We like BB and detest Jira, and I was just about to recommend to my boss that we try Trello, and we will likely switch to it, since the only vaguely good thing about Jira is Kanban boards.

Well, the bitbucket power up in Trello also disappeared. Even though we prefer Jira, some clients use Trello and we want to be able to link commits and branches to cards. Now we have to link them as web attachments

Due in part to this, but largely because of the "do everything imaginable, but nothing well" philosophy of Jira I am pushing our company to ditch Jira and switch to Basecamp.

This is an old topic, but it seems there is still interest in the subject, so I'll comment. If you use pipelines in BitBucket, you can connect to the Trello API and create your own scripts to manipulate boards and cards in Trello.
