An example of response.varfile for a Bitbucket Upgrade, not Install

I'm trying to use the bitbucket installer with a response.varfile to do an UPGRADE from 5.x to 6.0.  We are on Linux.  I keep getting this error "The target installation directory is not empty."  I suspect that my reponse.varfile is the problem.  Are there any complete examples available?
