The release notes for 5.8 mention the availability of global commit hash search. I've tried using it on our datacenter instance without any success.
Does it need to be enabled? The release notes did not have links to follow up articles.
Or, perhaps, it's not available on the datacenter version? Again, there was no mention of limited availability in the release notes.
Hey Daniel, you shouldn't have to enable anything (unless the commit you would expect to see is on a fork that has been excluded from code search). It's important to note however that the search results only show in the quick search box below and you will need to provide 7 or more characters from the start of the hash in order to see a result.
