I have just installed Bitbucket server on Redhat 8.0
I installed postgreSQL as well but I have not even gotten as far as connecting because the setup is very very slow!
I cannot see any issue in the logs or using top
wget from various clients is blindingly fast
Update: Firefox works OK. It is just Chrome which is slow. Chome also does not update fields that are typed into unless I scroll.
Hi Pasquale!
The Bitbucket installer unpacks several thousand small files, which can put a strain on the system, especially under Linux. If this is important to you you might be able to fine tune your IO or CPU scheduler to prioritize your UI applications. Doing a web search for "linux gui io slowdown" should give you some answers.
Cheers,
Wolfgang
