@sujraju1 Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

If I may leave a personal comment: Best Practices are outdated and are considered dangerous by any sane developer nowadays. By the style of asking this is perhaps news to you, so just sharing.

But not without asking: About what kind of practice are you looking for? Is it really that generic "Bitbucket Source Code control tool"? Then I would suggest two things first of all:

1.) Read the tools' documentation. It's available online at https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket and should help you to be prepared for your best practice.

2.) Join the Atlassian Community.

Hey you already did! Now that's great. You should always be prepared!

And while you ask that generic and assumably it's only git for most of us:

3.) Learn git for source code control

Git is sort of the de-facto standard of a distributed SCM you can use of source code control. It's compatible with Bitbucket (as with many other) so it's not something that specific so that all your learning will be lost the moment the provider goes down or changes what you rely on and what you practice, practice and practice.
