Delete contents of Export folder in Bitbucket Home directory

Brian Warholak September 26, 2019

I have a few GB of data in my Bitbucket Home directory in the Export folder. From reading, it appears this data is simply dump files created during database migrations. I have only migrated the database one time, from one version of Postgre to another, and there are files from the time I built the server up until the present. From the timestamps on the files, it looks like they are created every night when I have a scheduled task for Postgre to backup my database. In anyone's experience, is it safe to get rid of some, if not all, of these files? I'm just looking to clean things up a bit.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Brian,

The content of the $BITBUCKET_HOME/export directory is only populated by data written by Bitbucket but not ingested by Bitbucket. This content includes backups, logs from backup events, support zips, and more. With this in mind, you are welcome to clean out your export folder any time that you would like as Bitbucket will never rely on the content in this directory.

I hope this helps!
