Fresh install to Linux with existing MySQL db

dario vilardi March 10, 2017

Hi,

my situation is Bitbucket server running fine on my Windows client with mysql remote database on CentOs.

I need move my installation from local Windows to remote server CentOs, I run the service startup, I connect to this sample ip in my corporate lan/23 10.1.2.3:7990 and begin a wizard. Once I put the mysql database address, port, db name, user and pass Bitbucket says me he can't progress because the db is already existing and he want one empty. I need connect to my existing db MySQL, of course I put the driver in /opt/atlassian/bitbucket/4.14.1/lib/.

How to solve?

The first thing to try would be to create the new installation against an empty database (can be on the same database server as the existing one)

Once the installation has run through the whole process and you are looking at an empty server, shut it down and change the database properties to point to the existing database, then restart.

The config file is home/shared/bitbucket.properties

Other infos:

both my system are installed with official installater, my Windows installation of Bitbucket is version 4.10, my CentOs installation is 4.14.

I'm able to start my Windows installation, all works fine. So I stop my Windows installation, start my CentOs installation, connect to the existing, test it and got this message
