This is a jump off from this question.
I want to change the URL in that drop down on each Repo page in Stash

I want to remove the username@ portion because when a user uses the suggested clone URL as is, it creates a failed authentication event every time. The reason for this is because the username is included, (i.e. https://neil.peterson@stash...reponame.git) but not the password (obviously). This creates an AuthenticationFailureEvent every single time, for every... single... git operation. This makes it difficult to find REAL authentication failures (where a user is actually having password problems) but more importantly it really gunks up the logs. (I have about 10,000 of these events for the last 7 days)
Can I change that URL to not include the username?
I requested this change as well (see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/STASH-4527). Doing a search I've seen other requests for the username to be removed. Atlassian indicated that there were reasons to keep the URL but never provided an explanation of what those reasons might be.
Thanks! I left a comment, for what its worth. I really hope we can get this reopened or find another resolution.
I wonder if this is exposed through the Java API....

+1, This seems more annoying than useful.
