Looking for answers on migration from GitLab to Stash

My company has an existing Git environment with Jira, Confluence, and GitLab. We are planning to move to Slash (probably, depending upon how painful it will be) and I have a few questions.

1. How do we move existing GitLab projects/Git repositories into Stash? The documentation is unclear whether we have to move the repositories to a new installation of Git or a new repository within Git, or if Stash will import an an existing repository in an existing Git installation.

2. I'm probably not going to like the answer to this one, but what happens to all of our GitLab code review comments?

3. Are there any hooks between Stash and Jenkins? Currently we can pull commit comments, code review comments, and diffs into an automatic "build change report" in Jenkins. Does Stash support that?

Hi Kieran,

Answer: in order to import existing repositories into Stash, you will have to execute the steps described on the Importing code from an existing project. Before that, after you'd installed Stash, make sure you Create projects and Create repos on your instance.

Answer: we don't support that level of integration with GitLab. We do have an issue for this: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/STASH-3555. Please add your comments/votes.

Answer:

There is a Stash Webhook to Jenkins available at our Marketplace. We also provide integration of third-party build servers with Stash using the Build Integration REST API as you can see on the Updating build status for commits page.
