Developers are able to edit files directly in the BitBucket webfrontend. This is causing issues because normally our commit messages are automatically prefixed with the JIRA issue number by a local pre-commit hook. This hook is of course not running on the BitBucket server.
We don't need the "edit in browser" feature for our repository and thus it shall be disabled.
Hi Thejeswara, welcome to the Community!
The "edit in browser" feature can be disabled by setting the following property in your bitbucket.properties
file:
feature.file.editor=false
See the Bitbucket Server config properties for a full list of all configuration options.
Hope that helps!
Ana
Hello Ana,
Thanks for quick help and reply!
As per my guess this will effect globally to all the users and projects repositories. My aim is to disable only for specific project repository.
Do you have an idea how can we achieve this?
Thanks in advance!
