Is there a way of defining a custom README when creating a new repo?

Whenever a new repository is created I would like to include my own README.md template.

Hi Josh,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

No, and as far as I know there is no app that gives you that option. You could create your own script for it and use the REST API to create the repository and add your template to it.
