On call shift start slack notification

Hello, 

Not sure this is a feature, but if it is not, that would be very useful. 

We come from better stack, and their slack integration would notify a channel when a new on call shift started. That was very useful to let the person know, as well as team members on the channel. 

Is this planned? If not, how can I turn this into a feature request?

So I've just played more with this @Leandro Guida and it seems you can set integration between Slack and Compass (without JSM) but I still am not sure if notifications about changes to who is on call will be displayed there.

Basically, you can navigate to team in Compass > Overview > Integrations (available on Standard and Premium plans it seems) and then add new Slack integration.

There are some materials/instructions you could use for setting up this integration: Integrate with Slack 

I've tested it a bit and tried adding myself to the rotation, but it seems this notification isn't set via integration. It mostly sends messages about alerts and such.

You might want to discuss this further with Atlassian Support and potentially refer them to this article.

If this isn't supported, I don't believe there's a feature request for it, so you might ask the support team to open one for you, as this could be quite useful.

Yes, we do have the integration with slack, but is mainly for alerts notifications. Thanks for taking the time to take a look into this.

Hi @Leandro Guida ,

I believe something like this is/should be available through JSM's ChatOps integration, which should work with Compass for on-call management.
Basically this: Connect and manage on-call schedules in Slack 

Now, if you don't have JSM I'm not sure if it's possible to integrate Compass only. But, if not, you can add JSM for free (you'll have up to 3 agents) and then be able to set it up.

Teams (and on-call schedules) are propagated throughout the whole system, so you'll have the same teams and configs. for JSM and Compass.

Now, as for opening new feature requests, I would recommend reaching out to Atlassian Support and discussing your use case with them. Their team can, potentially, create new feature request on which you can vote and comment.

We are not really using HSM with it. We have a Jira + Compass setup. So, in this case not really a way to get notified of the new shift?
