Cannot copy one cell and paste it into multiple cells

Hi all, if I copy one cell, highlight a group of other cells and paste with Ctrl + V, only the first cell gets the value pasted. I have to select each cell individually and paste the value one by one, which is obviously not ideal. 

Am I missing something or is it a missing feature?

Try this.

Copy the value you want to paste.

Select the cells you want to paste into.

Right-click and you will see the option "Edit x values", where x is the number of rows you selected.

Then paste the new value into the box.

I would argue Ctrl+V into multiple cells should also work to mimic every other spreadsheet program but at least there is a workaround.
