Hi, we have the need to build a user self-service portal – where users can update specified attributes, such as phone number, mobile, etc. – and these attributes are written back to the source directory.
We have already worked out that the base Confluence product won’t allow us to synchronise arbitrary source attributes to a user’s profile – which I think it pretty poor.
Now, checking the possible add-on’s to enable the custom attribute mappings, such as (seibertmedia or communardo) specifically say they only synchronise one-way.
Gee… this seems a rather fundamental feature for a collaboration/intranet product, but maybe I’m used to working with products at a different level.
Is there any way, short of purchasing the crowd IdM solution that we can write back to AD/LDAP ?
Thanks
Hi @David Frith,
we're currently working on the next release for the Custom User Profile plugin which will contain writing back to AD/LDAP.
Feel free to send us more details about your specific plans and your AD infrastructure so that we can match that and give you some feedback whether our plugin will meet your requirements. We could also schedule a screensharing session or something similar to check that we'll meet your needs and would like to invite you to join our beta-testing group.
