Advice on Managing an Inclusions Page

We have an inclusions page of pictures png and jpeg. This is reusable content for many pages. These pictures have all been attached to a single page. The number of picture is in the hundreds and may go to thousands. So far we have used the attachments macro on the page to display the listing of files by name. However users have asked if there is a way to display a clickable thumbnail along with the file name.

From what I can see there is the "Gallery Macro" which will display the picture and there is the "Attachment Macro" which will display the file name but there is no way to display the photo and the file name.

Any feed back would be appreciated

Personally, with that many images, I would look for a JavaScript gallery widget and embed it with the HTML macro.
