My users like the idea of the Recommended in Confluence email but want to know how to personalise it for themselves or restrict it to certain spaces, etc. I know that neither of those settings are available - the only things I can control (as an admin) are On/Off and Daily/Weekly.
So, are there any alternatives out there - plugins perhaps - that would allow my users to dictate their own settings for a Recommended-style email? Set the frequency, a drop-down list of spaces to include/exclude, that kind of thing...

Thanks, but no, that's not really what I need. My users want to be able to subscribe to some, not all, of pages and blogposts. Basically they want to tailor the email to their individual interests. At the moment, all they can do is all or nothing. For example, an engineer may want to see the notifications for the Eng and IT spaces but not the HR space - this is not currently possible with the Recommended in Confluence email. I am asking if anyone knows an alternative, more personalised, version of this functionality.
Confluence users can choose their personal settings, which will override the defaults as shown on this page:
