"Anyone else noticed office excel macro disabled when disabling the widget connector macro?"

We just disabled the widget connector macro, and WebDAV plugin, (due to a security warning recently received). We just noticed our office excel macros are not usable (we see "Unknown macro:viewxls" instead). Right now we're thinking we need to turn one or both of these back on (so not to interrupt our users) but better would be to find a way to only disable widget connector and WebDAV plugin so any thoughts welcome.

Hey Hugh,

The Office macros have a hidden dependency on the WebDAV connector plugin. Disabling the WebDAV plugin will also disable the office macros (viewdoc, viewxls, viewppt, viewpdf). We do not recommend re-enabling the Office macros (without upgrading Confluence to a patched version) as this will also re-enable the WebDAV connector.

If you are unable to get a Confluence upgrade scheduled soon and need the previews working again, we do have instructions for bulk-updating the Office macros to the new File Preview macro  via a few SQL commands.
