Atlassian companion on Safari failing due "insecure content"

luizhauth December 23, 2019

Hi

Anyone faced the issue below when using Atlassian companion on Safari:

"https://... was not allowed to run insecure content from ws://127.0.0.1:31459"

Looks like Atlassian Companion is trying to access a Mixed Content (HTTPS and HTTP / Secure and insecure) at same time and looks like Safari blocks Mixed Content.

Safari Version: 13.0.4
Atlassian Companion: 0.7.3

Yes I used Companion app before, but on Chrome.... not Safari.... this was the first time I tried to use in Safari.

Hmm.. It might be also related to recent changes to Atlassian Companion due to security issue..

Companion indeed is using some URL. Maybe Safari cannot handle that easily now.

When this started to happen? Did you used Companion app before? Did you tried on a different browser?

Hi @luizhauth

Please check this KB which is related to what I have mentioned ealier

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/cant-edit-files-in-confluence-server-using-atlassian-companion-app-in-internet-explorer-edge-firefox-or-safari-981152695.html

Unfortunately one of the workarounds is to use different browser if Safari is not working for you.

FYI - There is also one issue related to Safari - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-68950 but it does not look that you are facing this specific problem. It is related to installation, not certificate problem.
