1. Benefit of conflunce in DC vs cloud

You should now be able to access the data using Atlassian Data Lake product. You may read more about this at Atlassian Data Lake | Atlassian

For most cases, it makes sense to go to Atlassian Cloud compared to using and managing Confluence Data Center on your own.

Atlassian has a DC vs Cloud on their site.

They have a "database" beta function, but I am not sure it does what you might be asking about......
