I have a JIRA and a Confluence installation, each using a number of add-ons, purchased and licensed via Atlassian. In my Atlassian account, these are set to auto-renew, so I do not need to bother about this (specifically, as each plugin has its own expiry date throughout the year).
However, even though, licenses renew automatically in my account, the installation itself does not seem to realize this. I have various licenses renewed, that are shown as expired in the installation. Do I really need to copy&paste the new license key from the account page into the appropriate add-on in my installation?
There should be an automatic "sync" or at least an option to manually transfer all licenses from the account to the installation.
That would be nice. It would require the Atlassian account owning the licences to be explicitly linked inside Jira (currently that's not done, there's just a SEN for looking things up manually), and that the Jira can contact Atlassian (a lot are firewalled off, so it would have to be optional). It would be nice if it worked for those of us with non-automatic renewal too - a function that maybe looks for new licences in the account once a week or so from a month before the end of the current licence.
I don't know if there is a feature request for this yet over at JAC - have a rummage through https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER and vote if you can find one, or raise it if you can't (and let us know, I wouldn't be the only one here to vote on it)
