Byline doesn't show byline info

On our test instance of Confluence 5.4.4, the byline displays the following:

added.by.user.last.edited.on.date (view change) show comment

Now, the odd thing is that on spaces that use the Doc Theme, the correct information is displayed there but on spaces that use the Default Theme, just the fore mentioned text. We haven't modified the byline in any way nor the handling of how the header section renders.

Any ideas how to fix this?

It seems that the Page Layout has changed and our server admin copied over the old Page Layout and when I restored the Page Layout to default, it cleared up this issue. However, all of our customizations are now gone. I'll need to rebuild those. :(
