This could be related to addons or extensions that you've installed in your browser like Adblockers.
Could you verify if you have some installed, disable them and try again?

Happens on Chrome, Firefox, Safari...with Safari having no extensions.
Viewing page source on a page with such a link shows me that Confluence generates the page contents all from javascript. That tells me the likely culprit is the click handler on the link is grabbing the URL to send to the server.
Coming in through the front door works, but coming in through your app controller (not through the default route) does now. Likely there is some HTTP encode/decode going on (either the HTTP REST POST, or inside the app controller that is messing things up.
