Closing Gliffy edit generates error File name must not be null

henrik_gerdtsson September 7, 2021

We have a fairly large diagram in an otherwise empty space. Trying to edit the diagram using the pen icon associated with the diagram generates an error when the diagram is closed after saving changes.

Error rendering macro 'gliffy'

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: File name must not be null

In the logfile the following is found
2021-09-07 15:39:14,485 ERROR [http-nio-8090-exec-23] [plugin.confluence.macro.GliffyMacroXHTML] execute {}

Maybe I should point out that the diagram has a name.

If the diagram edit it proceeded with a Confluence page edit everything works fine. So editing a diagram during a page edit works.

I'm sorry for the trouble, Henrik! I did chuckle at "maybe I should point out that the diagram has a name." :)

I would really appreciate it if you could reach out to support@gliffy.com with all these specifics so that they can investigate this with our engineering team.

In the meantime, I wonder if you could look at the options under File — would renaming or using the save as functionality to duplicate this diagram help?

Thanks for your help!

Thank you for the response.

We have found the problem. It is related to the Swedish character in the name of the diagram. I have reported it to your support as a bug. It has also been confirmed as a bug. I look forward to see the bug fixed in a future version. In the meantime we have two workarounds.

1. Use the Confluence page edit to edit the diagrams.
2. Do not use Swedish characters in the name.
