×Embedded a Google Slide deck into a confluence page. When the page is published, I can view the embedded slides perfectly. My team, however, receives a "Cannot view slide deck with this user. Either the content is missing or you do not have permission to view." error.
I've checked the permissions in Gdrive and everyone should have access. I've confirmed that all team members can open and edit the slide deck directly through Gdrive.
Confluence is not showing any needed updates to the macro.
I can't find any reason why the content would not appear. Is this an indexing issue? Some random glitch that is not preventable? Something that we can protect against?
@Shannon S - can someone provide
1> detail documentation for the Google Drive Connector for individual accounts. I have Confluence Cloud and an individual account with Google Drive and GDocs. Want to embed GDocs in my Confluence pages.
There is zero doc in Confluence or on the plugin. A 3rd party suggested creating a custom Google cloud app which is way outside the scope of linking a single account in Google to Confluence
Thanks
Jim
Hello Jim,
The documentation for the official Google Drive for Confluence app can be found below:
This page will show you how you can embed Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides into your Confluence pages. This works with your individual account; you don't need a separate add-on for that.
To add a Google Drive macro to a page:
- In the Confluence editor, choose
> Other Macros
- Find and select the required macro
Speeding up macro entry with autocomplete:
In the new editor - Type / and the beginning of an element (tool or things in the insert menu) to see a list of suggestions.
In the legacy editor - Type { and the beginning of the macro name to see a list of suggested macros.
When you go to insert the Google Doc into your page, if you use the default private link, anyone who doesn't have access will be prompted to log in:
If you want to share it with others, make sure that you use the shareable link available from Google.
By clicking on Share in the top-right, you can get the shareable link:
I hope that helps, but if you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for contacting us about this. Could you tell me, is the file in a Team Drive, or your personal drive?

Shannon

They are all individual drives but created within our company's business account.

Hi Jeff,
Sounds like it might be this issue:
Can you review that and let me know if the behavior is the same? If not, can you share a screenshot of the error message your users are seeing?
Regards,
Shannon
