Confluence backup ending up in temp directory instead of backups

Nick Reilingh

I am trying to run an XML backup on Confluence Server 5.10.3. The nightly backup job is disabled, so I am running it manually from the task scheduler.

The backup job completes, but it does not end up in the <homedir>/backups directory indicated in the backup settings page. I managed to find it in the temp directory instead.

The backup appears to be complete, but I am worried about this behavior—what can I do to troubleshoot?

Dear @Nick Reilingh ,

this behavior is ok - there is a checkbox to also save the backup in backups dir.

So long

Thomas

See this from Confluence 6.15.6:

Is it actually communicated anywhere that backups are saved to <homedir>/temp? I can't seem to find it in any of the confluence documentation.

I know this from experience - not documentation ;) The reason is to keep the confluence-home directory size low. All files in 'temp' are cleaned once a day. The one in backup not.
