Please let me know how the Conflunence permission happening on below examples.
1. Confluence integrated with two user directories, first is LDAP (read only with local groups and default group member is confluence-users) and second one is internal directory
2. User A exists on both directories but disabled in internal directory
3. Same user A is memeber of some custom groups mentioned in internal directory
In this scenario, the user A authenticated with LDAP direcroy and will get all the group memberships mentioned in both directory? Or the user only will get LDAP authentication with confluence-users group access?
Also,
Suppose same above user directoy type is configured and a user B present on internal directory with confluence-user and confluence-administrators group permission, then this user will get admin access on the instance.
Please help.
Hi Sanu,
The user will get the membership from the directory that is in the TOP on the User Directories (Confluence Admin > User Directories). If you have you're LDAP on the TOP, the membership will get from LDAP, if your Internal directory is on the TOP, the permission will be granted based on the membership that this user has on the Internal Directory.
So basically the message is, users will get their membership from the position of the directory in the User Directories section.
Cheers,
WZ
