Is there a way to exclude an author from the list of Contributors the macro provides?

EG: A technical writer assists with the presentation of material provided by an engineer, but is not someone a reader of the material should contact to obtain clarifications.  Both the original author (engineer) and the tw show up as Contributors, though, and the tw as a more-frequent Contributor.

@MD Wilson Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

Unfortunately there is no way to classify the different types of contributors, and once a person edits a page they are classified as an author and will come in on the Contributors report that the Macro produces.

Sorry I could not be a bigger help in providing you a solution.
