Deleted/Purged pages still show up in search

Confluence 5.8.4 - Deleted pages still show up in search

1. Purged the page from the trash - still showing it in search

2. Not sure from the support articles if rebuilding the index will solve the problem. Is this the recommended approach?

you should indeed rebuild the index, this will solve your search issue as you guessed it :)

Just tested on 6.6.1, seems the search results don't pick up deleted pages fairly quickly.

Tested: I created a test page, searched for it on global search (found it), deleted the page, searched again, nothing showed. *This was all within 2 minutes*

Would be interesting to see if your contents are still searchable tomorrow (without indexing).
