Edit page restrictions for space viewers

Hello community!

I have a space with View permissions for 5 individual users.

I need those users to be able to edit only one page within that space.

I restricted the page and enabled them to edit it, but they don't see the Edit button.

Do I really need to grant them Edit permission on the entire space so they will be able to edit one page?

Thank you all!

Ayelet

Dear @Ayelet (888),

The space permissions are "above" the page restrictions. Means a user, that may not edit in the whole space is not allowed to edit one page, even if allowed.

The reason: If a space admin gives someone the permission "Restrict Space", then this user could add people to one page, that are strictly forbidden. This would breach the security of confluence.

Best you allow all to edit and restrict the pages. Remember, that children pages inherit the restriction from their parent. But this can be - per page - overwritten.

So long

Thomas

Hi @Thomas Deiler,

Thank you, your explanation is indeed makes sense. But the need to restrict all other pages to be readable only is a hassle. But I do understand the problematic scenario here.

Thank you

Ayelet
