Excerpt Macro

Timo Winkler July 2, 2020

Hi,

I just tried to use the Excerpt macro in connection with the Office Excel macro.

I have an Excel document with multiple sheets in it. Each sheet should be displayed on a subpage in Confluence. I just want to edit the document once on the mainpage and it should be automatically update the other ones.

The Excel macro always displays the last open/edited sheet.

So far, so good, the problem is that when I edit the document on the mainpage, the sheets on the subpages will also change to the edited sheet.

Is there a workaround or do you have any ideas how I can ensure that the sheets don't change?

Hi @Timo Winkler - welcome to this wonderful community

I think you don't need the Excerpt macro here - just insert the Office Excel macro on each subpage.

For parameters in settings for each subpage:

  • page name: Where you saved your excel
  • worksheet name: Here you just choose each sheet you wanna show on this subpage (e.g. sheet2 for the second sheet aso)

When you now change something in on the first sheet nothing happens on the subpages - only thing you have to pay attention to: When you change the names of the worksheets they will probably not be shown anymore on the subpages.

Hope this helped
