Exclude specific Accounts from "Recent Updates Dashboard" and "Confluence Changes E-Mail"

Mario Ofner July 25, 2018

Hey Guys,

I have a robot that is updating several pages in Confluence on regular basis. These pages are visible to many users in Confluence.

I would like to exclude these changes from the "Recent Changes Dashboard" and from the daily E-Mail "Confluence changes in the last 24 hours"

Can anyone help me with that please?

I did not find information, but that's maybe because i was not able to phrase my search correctly.

Thanks,

Mario

There aren't any settings in Confluence to filter out updates by certain users from the daily update email or from the list of changes on the Confluence dashboard.

To achieve what you are looking to do, you would need to:

  • customize the email template: Customizing Email Templates
  • write a user macro to show the filtered "recently updated" content, because the Recently Updated Macro lets you include specific users but not exclude them as it mentions, "Filter the results by author. The macro will display only the pages etc which were last modified by the author(s) you specify here."
  • Customize the dashboard to use your macro and not show the default All Updates stream
