Future macro shows storage format instead of actual rendered HTML

Rama Krishna Anumola {Appfire} May 16, 2018

Hi ,

We are having a compatibility issue with our Cache for Confluence (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/152/cache-for-confluence?hosting=server&tab=overview\) app and confluence older versions i.e 6.0 -6.0.7. When we try to load the resultant macro data instead of the rendering actual data it is displaying the storage format. And one more thing we identified is that when we configure these instances in local it just working fine, but whereas it is hosted on distributed environment getting this issue. Please find one of our customers reported issue for more details.https://bobswift.atlassian.net/browse/CACHE-233\\

We raised Atlassian support request as well but they suggested to choose this channel to get the solution as they had limited expertise on this.

Thanks in advance and please let us know if you need any additional details to resolve this issue.

Thanks

RK

Hi RK - I don't have any insight as to why the macro would render the storage format under certain conditions but we can try isolating what those conditions are by comparing the local environment to the distributed environment. Are they installed the same way or are deploy scripts used in the distribution? What are the network devices between the browser and the Confluence server, for example load balancers or proxies?

You may be able to find something by checking the developer tools on your favorite browser as well. Sometimes there will be an entry indicating something (in the file system, for example) is "not found" or a request of a certain type is being blocked by a device.

I look forward to hearing more about the conditions under which the described behavior is triggered, and anything interesting you find in your browser's dev tools.

Thank you @ann for the response. We are not sure what makes the behaviour triggered like this, still we are analysing the reasons. As suggested will use the developer tools and let you know if we made any progress with it.
