Hello,
if I create oder edit a template (Confluence 5.1.2), German Umlauts (äöüß) are only shown until saving of the template.
If I create a new page from a template, German Umlauts are not shown. Same if I re-edit the template.
Example:
New template -> insert text: "Für eine Änderung muss der Fuß geküsst werden"
Save the template
Edit this template or create new page from this template -> now the text looks like this: "Fr eine nderung muss der Fu geksst werden"
The encoding-setting in Confluence is "UTF-8" and all language settings are set to "german" (Deutsch).
How can I change this behaviour? Or is this a bug and we have to wait until a bugfix?
Regards
This is a known bug, see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-28971 for details.
When I do the same there is no problem, all the umlauts are displayed correctly (Confluence 4.3.7). But I don't know what the problem is. Perhaps this page can help:

Thank you for the Link. All Tests passed successful.
The problem exists only on the new templates in Confluence 5.x, called "Blueprints".
