Hello everyone,
I have a VM to test JIRA, Bitbucket and Confluence webservices, in terms of backups and restores, and usually I use recovery_admin to access those.
But after trying to access private spaces, to check if everything was working as expected, even given that account admin privileges, I continue to be unable to access those.
I went in Settings > General configuration > Space Permissions > Manage Permissions (for the space) and in Indivisual Users, I selected "Edit Permissions" and add the recovery_admin user to have all the permissions, but still no changes. If I try to access that space, I hit in the request access:
Anyone knows how can I setup this up?
Hi @apollopt
The recovery_admin account is there to help you getting a temporary door to Confluence to restore administrative access with your regular account -- or by creating a new administrator account.
Regarding access to restricted pages, only users of the confluence-administrators group have access to restricted pages and the temporary recovery_admin account cannot be added to that group.
While you may still get access to Spaces that the account doesn't have direct permissions, you won't be able to access restricted pages.
The best approach is to use a different admin account to perform that validation, one that is part of the confluence-administrators group.
I hope that helps.
Kind regards,
Thiago Masutti
Thank you for the response, since I've setup a static IP in Jira directory who his the user directory that I'am using for both bitbucket, jira and confluence, running in the same machine/NIC, I will use the 127.0.0.1 for all user lookups, to avoid that account.
