Hello, I am working on a Confluence page which requires to be updated with in the table whenever a new page is used by using a specific template which includes some of the headings like Title, Department, Region which should be linked and updated in the table of main page. Can anyone help me out?
I'm also new, but I tried finding a solution to this.
Option 1: Excerpt macro
You can put your content inside an Excerpt macro on your page. Then use Excerpt Include macro from another page to display the first page's Excerpt.
Cons: It seems you can only have 1 Excerpt per page. If I added two, only the first is included in the 2nd page.
Option 2: Page Property macro and Page Property Report macro
You can setup a page property macro on your page. You can optionally mark it as hidden. Then use page property report macro on your second page to display those properties.
Cons: Your data in page property macro cannot be the content of your page, because Its layout is mandated to be a 2-column table, key on left and value on right. Having to maintain this property table along with your actual page content simultaneously is not very practical.
Maybe you can combine the above macros with user macros (to generate the content), or with plugins like Easy Confluence Variables.
Thank you @KC Wong for the information. I have used the Page Property macro and it is working as I expected to my requirement.
