How to Hide a custom field on edit screen Jira

Hello 

I want a custom field that should be hide when we want to edit the issue, 

I tried adding some script at the discription of the field at field configuration but it didnt work, 

apprecited every one's cooperations

Hello,

Just remove this custom field from the edit screen for this issue type (project settings -> screens)

Thanks for reply dude, I went through that way to remove it from Edit screen but the problem is when you remove it from there the field is being removed from view screen too. and when I added it back to view screen it was there on the edit screen.

 any other suggestion ??

It means that you use the same screen for the view and edit screens. You should create a separate screen for the edit screen.
