Hello,
I am trying to disable the "Notify Watchers" feature across our entire space permanently as some editors forget to uncheck the box when saving pages and that creates Email Notifications for everyone watching the page which are the least helpful as its just a lot of cluttered text in an Email body.
Also, we use Comala Document Management and send custom notifications to watchers when ever a page is "Published" and not before that. Hence the "Notify Watchers" feature hampers our workflow if someone forgets to uncheck them while editing.
I have Space Admin rights and want to disable the Notify Watchers feature for all users and not just for myself.
Thank you!
Hi @davin,
I'd recommend installing No Email Storm. It replaces the "Notify watchers" checkbox with two buttons "Save" and "Save and notify". It's one of my go-to apps on Confluence Server since it's free!
Hope this helps,
- Manon
That seems like the perfect solution to my issues but unfortunately working in a corporate, there are many hoops that I need to jump through to get a new app instated in our instance. I will definitely try for this but is there no in-built way to resolve this in Confluence? Admins should have a control on how Confluence sends Email Notifications I'd believe.

Based on this workaround, this is possible to set the box as unchecked by default:
