How to get more color choices in confluence?

I have only six color options (none good) for my backdrop in Confluence using the poster template and the colors for the text are horrific. How do I get a decent color selection? Also, the fonts available are ugly and limited.  What do I need to ask for to get basic fonts and colors that are even at the level of say, Google docs?

Hi Krista,

I agree that the colors on Confluence as it is now are pretty limited. We recently added more cell highlight colors in Confluence Cloud, and it looks like it's about to be released in Server too:

Please subscribe to that thread so you know when the colors are available!

As for font colors, I would recommend following the thread I sent you earlier on that, which is the ability to control font selection via the UI:

• CONFSERVER-5309 Add font selection capabilities to WYSIWYG editing and Wiki markup modes

You can also use the HTML macro that I let you know about to embed your own text with formatting, as long as you're familiar with HTML. It's included by default on Confluence, but you do have to ask your site admin to enable it for the site. Be aware it can cause security issues, so your admin might not want to enable it.

We are not allowed to do any of the above at our firm 

Ask a Confluence administrator.
Your requirements cannot be realized without your own macros or additional apps.
You need the appropriate permissions. If you don't have it then it just won't work.

We are not allowed to do any of the above at our firm. We have to use the tools Confluence gives us. Confluence gives us bad tools. I am trying to steer this project away from the rocks of Confluence but it if has to go forward, why can't it be not horribly ugly?

 Either write addons yourself, create user macros or just buy them from the marketplace.
